Assessments

Assessments in Our Programs

Our math coaching programs are designed to meet students at their current skill level and help them excel. We offer tailored assessments for our Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced Math Programs to evaluate each student’s strengths and areas for growth. Below is an overview of the assessments we provide for each program.

Elementary Math Program Assessments

The Elementary Math Program is designed for students in grades 1–5, focusing on building a strong foundation in fundamental math concepts.

The Elementary Math Program is designed for students in grades 1–5, focusing on building a strong foundation in fundamental math concepts.

  • Placement Assessment
A 30-minute online or in-person test covering basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), number sense, and introductory geometry. This helps us place students in the appropriate level within the program.
    Format: Multiple-choice and short-answer questions.
Purpose: Identify the student’s current skill level and any foundational gaps.
  • Progress Checkpoints
Short, 15-minute quizzes administered every 6 weeks to monitor progress in topics like fractions, decimals, and problem-solving.
Format: Mix of written and digital exercises.
Purpose: Track improvement and adjust lesson plans as needed.
  • End-of-Term Evaluation
A comprehensive 45-minute assessment at the end of each term, covering all topics taught, such as place value, basic word problems, and early algebraic thinking.
Format: Combination of practical tasks and written questions.
Purpose: Evaluate overall mastery and readiness for the next level.

Intermediate Math Program Assessments

The Intermediate Math Program targets students in grades 6–8, emphasizing pre-algebra, geometry, and problem-solving skills.

  • Diagnostic Assessment
A 45-minute test to assess proficiency in fractions, decimals, percentages, basic algebra, and geometry fundamentals.
Format: Online or paper-based with multiple-choice, short-answer, and problem-solving questions.
Purpose: Determine the student’s starting point and tailor the curriculum to their needs.
  • Unit Tests
Biweekly 30-minute tests focusing on specific units, such as linear equations, ratios, or geometric transformations.
    Format: Problem-solving and application-based questions.
Purpose: Ensure mastery of individual topics before moving forward.
  • Mid-Term and Final Assessments
Comprehensive 60-minute exams covering all material taught during the term, including data analysis, probability, and introductory trigonometry.
Format: Mix of theoretical questions and real-world applications.
Purpose: Measure overall progress and readiness for advanced math concepts.

Advanced Math Program Assessments

The Advanced Math Program is for students in grades 9–12, preparing them for college-level math, standardized tests, and competitive exams.

  • Initial Proficiency Test
A 60-minute assessment covering algebra II, geometry, trigonometry, and pre-calculus concepts.
Format: Online or in-person with a mix of multiple-choice, free-response, and proof-based questions.
Purpose: Place students in the correct course track and identify areas for targeted instruction.
  • Monthly Benchmark Exams
45-minute tests focusing on specific advanced topics, such as calculus, matrices, or complex numbers.
    Format: Problem-solving and analytical questions.
Purpose: Monitor progress in challenging topics and ensure retention.
  • Comprehensive Final Exam
A 90-minute exam at the end of the program, covering all advanced topics, including calculus, statistics, Higher Algebra and Discrete math.
Format: Combination of theoretical, computational, and application-based questions.
Purpose: Assess mastery of advanced concepts and readiness for college or competitive math environments.
